To ensure safe and long-lasting use of the LG M58T cell, the following charging, storage and disposal instructions must be followed.
✅ Highest capacity among the cells – as much as mAh, which means your devices run longer on a single charge.
✅ Stable current capacity – 12.5 A continuous discharge current, allowing safe use in demanding applications.
✅ Long life cycle – even after 500+ charge cycles, it maintains high efficiency, making it an investment for years to come.
✅ Advanced technology and safety – robust chemical design with thermal protection and minimal risk of overheating.
✅ Versatile application – works well in electric vehicles, energy storage systems and consumer electronics.
➡ LG M58T is one of the best cells on the market – offers an excellent balance of capacity, performance and safety in use.
The LG M58T cell is an excellent choice for demanding users looking for high capacity, stable performance and long life. Thanks to LG’s state-of-the-art technology, it is one of the best cells available on the market. If you are looking for reliability and long service life, the LG M58T will meet your expectations.
The operating time of the cell depends on the load. In typical applications:
???? In an electric bike – in a 48V battery (13s) it provides longer range than cells with lower capacity.
???? In a powerbank – allows more charge cycles compared to standard mAh cells.
???? In an energy storage system – ensures devices last longer without frequent recharging.
➡ The lower the current load, the longer the cell holds energy.
Not all devices are compatible with the LG M58T. Please check before use:
✔ Maximum charge and discharge voltages – this should be within the parameters of the cell (4.20 V / 2.50 V).
✔ Current requirements – if your device requires higher currents than 12.5 A, consider other cells e.g. Sony VTC6A.
✔ Cell length – LG M58T is 71mm, some devices require shorter cells.
➡ A lways check the specifications of your device before you buy!
❌ Using unsuitable chargers – using a charger without voltage and current monitoring can shorten the life of the cell.
❌ S torage in poor conditions – exposure to high temperatures or moisture can cause chemical degradation.
❌ Improper disposal – discarding in regular rubbish is an environmental and safety hazard.
❌ S hort-circuiting of cell poles – accidental contact with metal objects can lead to damage or fire.
➡ By following the manufacturer’s recommendations, problems can be avoided and the life of the cell maximised.
The 48G is obsolete, its production was stopped by Samsung SDI and replaced by the 50G (mAh), stores that still sell 48G are just lucky not to have sold everything, but once their stock is exhausted it will not replenished. And the 40T is not a cell having a nominal discharge of 20A but 35 continuous amperes (this is the official datasheet that says it, not me) or 45 amperes continuous if the cell is kept below 80 ° C (see official datasheet). And for the 30T, it’s the same as the 40T, 35 continuous amps and 45 amps continuous if kept below 80 ° c. Always check your info before publishing, otherwise you mislead other people and this without wanting.
This cell outperforms every and in regulated devices at up to about 20A-25A (60W-75W). Only the Samsung 30T hits harder for ’s. In my opinion though it is not a 35A battery, as rated in the datasheet.
At 35A continuous this cell reaches almost 90°C. That is too hot to ensure decent cycle life. A rating of 25A continuous brings it to about the same temperature that the Samsung 30T reaches at its rating.
At above 20A-25A (60W-75W) the Samsung 30T is the better performer anyway. The 40T is best at low to mid power levels where it can be the most efficient. The 40T is still an amazing 25A battery though!
I think it’s you who may have been mislead by the manufacturers. You seem to be mixing up the measurements.
There is continous output, like HKJ and Mooch measure, and then there is a different measurement which the manufacturers use and is misleading if you don’t read the fine print.
Continous discharge means you apply a load and it can go from fully charged to empty without exceeding “safe” temperature limits. HKJ will need to say what that is. I think 60°C to 70°C?
The manufacturers use a higher discharge rating that will exceed their own safe operating parameters, meaning it goes over 80°C. Just look at the tests above. Who is going to be monitoring their battery temperatures to know when to turn down the current? No one. So don’t be fooled by them.
Just like with every battery, of course you can exceed their continous output ratings, you just have to remember that it can only do this for a short amount of time.
Some wrappers are even flaunting “35A continous discharge” and putting “up to 80°C” in fine print. Please don’t be fooled by this. Some people already posted that Efest was superior because the wrapper said it was 35A continous. Again, don’t be fooled or mislead.
Mooch has given the 40T a slightly higher continous rating of 25A.
