I can't recall the model #, but it is the 3000w 48v inverter charger, it was about $670 when I bought it, now about $750. They also have a 24v model.
I got mine from Signature Solar in Tx. I also bought the gyll 48v 5100wh rack mount battery. The whole assembly fits in an insulated box I built where the spare use to live under the van. There are some finicky issues involved with charging a 24v or 48v battery from a 12v system, but I wanted a very strong efficient solar AC set up and was willing to jump through some hoops for the 12v. side I have 800w of solar on the roof. I currently alternator charge through a 2000w 12v inverter that is the "Grid" charging through the Growatt. I am going to switch to 12v upconverters Y connected with the solar side and adjusted to a voltage lower than peak solar, so when the solar starts fading below a certain amount, the alternator will just take over gracefully. I have a T1N with a 220A DB electric alternator. If you have a later model with the "Smart Alternators" this probably will create problems.
The Growatt has some issues, the wifi monitoring is apparently not good, I don't use anything that reports back to a server, so I don't care.
The programming is wonky at best. It is very programmable, but the interface is vague.
It has limitations, it is either charging from the grid, or passing through the 120v. It can't do both at the same time. It has worked flawlessly for over a year now and with the large battery capacity, I have not seen it shut down from running up to 4000w for a couple minutes.
It only weighs 27lbs. is about 1.5' x 2' x 5" It is well suited for a van and doesn't get very hot.
Incidently, all the inverter chargers that have the similar form factor with the same small display, have the same internal components, which are replaceable.
I just noticed xantrex has jumped on the wagon and is offering one (for twice as much $$) branded as "Freedom XC pro marine" It is 12v.
I happen to have a couple friends who are sort of giants in the solar industry (They have designed a lot of the top products on the market) and they both like the newer switching high freq. inverters. We also have tested some cheap chinese sine wave inverters (Big blue anodized cases) and they actually held stable 120 sine waves at 130% of rating. That being said, you never know which brand is currently making good stuff, or being counterfeited....
Signature solar has good service, they have a real person who can answer tech calls if you need it.
I just bought 2 more 24v 5100wh batteries from them and am about to redo the power system on the bus...
