Blackening surface treatment process mainly includes the following steps:

Degreasing and oil removal: First, grease and dirt need to be removed from the surface of the workpiece. This is usually accomplished through the use of a degreasing agent. The workpiece is immersed in a degreasing agent at 50-60°C for 2-5 minutes to ensure that the grease is completely removed1.

Cleaning: After removing the grease, the workpiece needs to be cleaned to remove the degreaser residue. If there is rust or stains on the surface of the workpiece, it will also need to be acid washed.

Acid washing to remove rust: Use an acid washing solution to remove rust from the surface of the workpiece. The concentration of the pickling solution and the treatment time need to be adjusted according to the specific situation, usually the concentration of the pickling solution is pH 2-4 and the treatment time is 5-10 minutes.

Re-cleaning: After pickling, the workpiece must be rinsed thoroughly with plenty of water to remove the residue of pickling solution.

Blackening treatment: Place the cleaned workpiece in the boiling treatment solution, keep the treatment solution in the boiling state, the treatment time is 10-20 minutes. Ensure the surface of the workpiece is fully saturated and shaken appropriately to avoid leaving reticulation marks.

Hot water rinsing: Rapidly transfer the workpiece to 50-80°C hot water for rinsing, keep the hot water in overflow condition for 5-6 seconds to fully rinse the workpiece and prevent water evaporation leading to rust.

Post-course cleaning: Rinse the workpiece sufficiently with water until its center part is also sufficiently cooled.

Rust prevention treatment: Finally, use rust prevention oil to treat the blackening treated workpiece (soak or apply) and let it dry sufficiently at room temperature.

Quality control and precautions for blackening treatment:

The surface of the workpiece must be completely immersed in the degreasing solution and the blackening solution to ensure the treatment effect.
Control the temperature and time, too high or too low temperature will affect the treatment effect.

The selection and use of anti-rust oil are also important to ensure that the treated workpiece has good anti-rust performance
