The company has a group of cooperation teams engaged in the Nissan truck radiator, Perkins generator radiator, Scania truck radiator, Freightliner truck intercooler industry for many years, with dedication, innovation spirit and service awareness, and has established a sound quality control and management system to ensure product quality.

An overheating engine can cause serious, even permanent damage to your engine. The radiator is the center of your Ford’s cooling system. It takes in heat and exchanges it for cooler outside air to keep the engine temperature under control. If your radiator is damaged, your Ford dealer can provide a radiator repair. These are some of the signs that your radiator could be in trouble.

Signs You Need a Radiator Repair at Your Ford Dealer

Blocked Radiator

The coolant in your radiator absorbs heat and transfers it to your radiator. Once inside the radiator, the flow of cool air removes the heat, and the coolant circulates through the system again. This system works very efficiently to keep your engine temperature under control. As the coolant moves through the system, it absorbs tiny metal fragments, dirt, and other debris. This junk is also carried into the radiator.

As time passes, debris accumulates and turns into sludge. This sludge can block the radiator’s cooling fins, preventing the hot coolant from being cooled by airflow. This situation can quickly result in your engine temperature climbing. Our technicians can quickly clear the blockage by flushing your radiator,

Damaged Thermal Switch

The air flowing over the tubes works very efficiently to cool the hot coolant. This form of cooling only works when your car is moving, as it requires a high level of airflow. When your car is idling, the airflow is very restricted. To keep your engine cool in this situation, you need the help of the radiator fan.

When your car isn’t moving, but your engine is running, the increasing heat level causes the thermal switch to turn on the fan. This fan blows across the tubes from behind and pushes the hot air out of your radiator. When your car moves again, the fan will switch off. The thermal switch is a simple device, but it can fail. A damaged thermal switch will prevent the fan from switching on. We can easily replace the switch to fix this problem.

Damaged Radiator Hoses

Your radiator has two hoses that connect it to the rest of your cooling system. These hoses are rubber but strongly reinforced and designed to operate under high temperatures. The coolant that’s pumped into your radiator can easily be hotter than 300 F. As time passes, the constant flow of hot, pressurized coolant can damage these hoses.

The rubber hoses will gradually degrade, and cracks will form in the rubber as it becomes less elastic. When this happens, leaks can develop, and you’ll lose coolant. We will test the hoses and replace them if they’re cracked or leaking.

Most radiator problems can be quickly fixed. Come and see us today at Scarsdale Ford.
